There are several different cities and towns in Copiah County, Mississippi. However, the city of Hazlehurst is the county seat of Copiah County. The City of Crystal Springs is located in the northern portion of Copiah County with a population of over 5,000. Because of its yearly tomato festival, Crystal Springs has become known as “The Tomato Capital of the World.” The Town of Georgetown is located on the eastern edge of Copiah County with a population of nearly 300 people. Georgetown is near the Highway 28 Bridge and the Alford-Little House, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Town of Wesson straddles the county line between Lincoln County and Copiah County. Wesson has a population of about 2,000 and is home to the main campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
